The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak

Country pub and eating with large garden and event space

Sprawling gardens, fragrant kitchen herbs, beehive and a sunny terrace set the scene for our little whitewashed pub. Look a little further and you’ll spot the teepee nestled in a secluded corner of the garden.
Inside is both spacious and cosy. You’ll find a snug with wood burning stove, a rosy red dining room and glowing dark floorboards. Rich fabrics and heritage colours create a warm background for our friendly, bubbly and professional staff. Our imaginative British food is consistently a big draw. We use fresh, seasonal and local produce, wherever possible and strongly believe in good food ethics. All are welcomed by our relaxed and informal team, happy to rustle you up a snack at the bar or offer some serious gastronomy. So if you’re looking for grown-up time to yourselves, the chance to loose your kids in our garden or sustenance after a long walk with the dog, a warm welcome awaits.

“Hidden gem in a gem”
7th February 2018

Lovely pub, well kept and relaxed. The gardens in the summer are great, lots of room to find yourself a quiet spot if you want and love seeing the dogs stretch their legs and find a bit of shade after a drink of water and doggie treat. The food is fabulous and spoiled for choice which just means you have to go back to try something else. The teepee is a hidden gem within a hidden gem. Great for a formal or informal get together and the sharing food is a feast.
